United Way Day of Action is a national one-day event during which hundreds of United Ways across the nation make a huge impact through local activities. Thousands of volunteers participate each year in their own communities to raise awareness for United Way programs.
This year United Way of Hays County plans to make a great impact on some of the youngest residents of Hays County by emphasizing the importance of early reading.
On the morning of Day of Action volunteers will read and deliver books to childcare centers throughout Hays County. In the evening, volunteers and UWHC supporters will rejoin for a mixer to kick off the 2013 Early Readers Become Leaders Bookdrive with the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce and SOAR.
