Members of the United Way of Hays County Young Leaders Society are caring, involved and compassionate individuals who take an active role in community development through professional development and philanthropic activities. Individuals or couples age 50 or younger are invited to join.
Be the change you wish to see in your community!
Levels of membership:
- Contribute an annual gift of $250 to United Way of Hays County ($400 for couples)
- Contribute an annual gift of $200 with a commitment to increase that to $500 annually in 3 years
- Contribute an annual gift of at least $200 to UWHC and perform at least 25 hours of volunteer
- Contribute an in-kind gift of property or service to UWHC of at least $500

Q.Can I bring a friend, who might be interested in joining, to a Young Leaders Society event?
A. Indefinitely! We welcome any individual, age 50 or younger, who is interested in bettering our community.
Q. What if I cannot commit the full pledge amount up front?
A. Payment options are available on a monthly, quarterly or biannual basis. Speak with a representative for further information about how to best suit your needs.
Q. Can my partner or spouse join with me?
A. Absolutely. Couples who wish to pledge together have the option to commit for $400 annually.
Q. What if I feel I cannot attend all Young Leaders events?
A. We understand everyone has busy schedules, full work days and family priorities. The Young Leaders Society is not designed to overcommit our members' schedules, but rather to provide fun, engaging opportunities for members to enjoy. Young Leaders can attend any or all events they would like. If you have any additional questions or concerns please do not hesitate to speak with a representative who can help maximize your Young Leaders Society experience.
Q. If I have ideas about how to address the critical needs in our area, can I bring them up for discussion with the group?
A. It is our hope that Young Leaders take an active position in creating the positive vision for changes they wish to see. It is your community, member ideas and collaboration is welcomed and encouraged.
Q. Is there an opportunity to get my business involved?
A. Businesses can contribute an in-kind gift of a minimum of $500 to secure a membership with Young Leaders Society. Young business leaders enjoy all of the perks of Young Leaders as traditional members.
